Oak Grove Theatre

Oak Grove Theatre Department began in 1986, being involved in the South Mississippi Drama Festival. At the festival, Oak Grove High School has received 26 superior ratings. Also, Oak Grove High School has been recognized for Outstanding Direction eleven times, and for Technical Achievement six times. We have had over 75 students receive All -Star Cast over the years.

 At the Mississippi Theatre Association  State Festival we have received six Runner-Up Awards, five Best Actor Awards, five Best Director Awards, three Best Actress Awards, four Best Supporting Actor Awards, four Best Supporting Actress Awards, one Best Scenic Design Award, and nine Best Costume Design Awards, Two Over All Technical Awards and numerous All-Star Casts and Best Ensemble which we have recieved three times. 

Oak Grove productions of Midsummer Night's Dream (1997) , Subway Circus ( 2000), Crow and Weasel (2005), The Crane Wife (2007), Tales of Trickery ( 2008),and  Jungalbook(2012) received the highest honor of the Dominic Cunetto Award for Best Production and were chosen to represent MS. at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). We have had 8 students receive All Star Cast,one Best Director, and one Best Actor at SETC. The Crane Wife   won Runner -Up Best Production in 2007 and Tales of Trickery  won Best Production in 2008. Oak Grove is one of four schools from MS. who have won SETC!
